As a massive comic book fan  it can be daunting how much is on offer in my local comic book stores every Wednesday, so the purpose of this article is to let you, dear reader, know which releases I’ve picked up and enjoyed!

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #119 (Boom Studios)

Around 6 months ago (maybe more), Boom Studios started a new Power Rangers event entitled “Darkest Hour”. This event is set up by Rita Repulsa gaining a huge power upgrade and aligning herself with Dark Spector. The pair of them united find a way to corrupt Rangers and set about building an army to destroy earth. In this latest chapter we see the Rangers finally start to turn the tide as well as the debut of some ridiculously cool new suits.

Superior Spider-Man #6 by Dan Slott (Marvel Comics)

Dan Slott is one of the most definitive writers of Spider-Man this side of Stan Lee. His run on “Amazing” that led to “Superior” as well as all of his Spider-Verse events have been fantastic. For this anniversary series (personally I can’t believe Superior was 10 years ago) we’ve seen Peter Parker and Doc Ock team up to deal with one of Doc Ock’s past mistakes from when he was the titular Superior Spider-Man. There have been some great call backs to that run throughout this series but this issue took a huge nosedive by bringing back the collective Spiders-Man… and making them Superior too!

Anyhoo, that’s the only two issues I‘ve picked up this week. Some weeks there’ll be more and other weeks there may not be a column at all but please let me know in the comments section if there’s anything cool I’ve missed out on!
