resi-7-2So as a long-time fan of the series and having played (and reviewed) the demo upon its initially release last year, I wasn’t sure what to expect of the full game, the departure from third person view to first person, the apparent lack of any returning series favourites IE, Chris Redfield or Jill valentine or Leon Kennedy these things combined left me feeling apprehensive in general, added to the series general downward spiral in quality , a more action approach in more recent games as opposed to survival horror which its famed for, I put the disk into my ps4 and let it install .

I had roughly around an hour + of play time last night, and I was pleasantly surprised , I won’t give away too much here, as I’d like to do a full and proper review when I’ve either completed or nearly completed , I’m not  the fastest of gamers, with work and family commitments , lol

So without sounding contradictory, to the above comments about first person viewpoint change and lack of series stalwarts from the last 20 years’ worth of resident evil history , it actually works, I was genuinely scared and I jumped at certain cut scenes and action points, I felt tension, apprehension and  nervous as I creeped around the Louisiana mansion , peering around corners in the dimly lit corridors which are quite claustrophobic , the first person makes you constantly want to check behind you although I only encountered two foes,  Jack the head of the Baker household and one other who I won’t spoil for you .

I feel despite the lack of apparent connection to Umbrella / Tricell or any of the other companies causing biological outbreaks in the series, I might add so far, obviously I have a lot more game to play through, its GOOOD  very much so, I’m looking forward to finding out the cause and seeing possible links to past resi games and being scared some more!!!!
