This week I got my hands on Steamworld heist . Steamworld heist is a turn based strategy action shooter, as a huge rpg fan and a lover of turn based movement this was a great game for me . You take on the role of captain piper, space robot pirate, as she sets out on an adventure recruiting other robot pirates along the way .just in that one sentence what’s not to like !! So each level is different to the last but the concept is the same. You have an objective to complete which normally consists of killing the enemies and then escaping . In each level there are loot crates to collect and even rare hats if you shoot them off the enemies . At the end of the level you are given a star rating out of 3 but as long as all your men are still alive then you will probably get the 3 stars. This , to me , was a game I couldn’t stop playing . I have even begun this game again on the hardest difficulty to attempt more of a challenge. The video i have uploaded with this review will show you a level quite late on the game . I tend to go into the levels guns blazing , sweeping through the levels as am going collecting all the loot . Other people might play a more stratigic way but that was what worked for me .

As you progress through the game you will pick up various equipment ( mostly from the loot crates in the levels ) to aid your attempt to finishing the game . This could be anything from guns , medipacs , jet packs , missiles to even knuckle dusters. Now the guns are quite interesting in themself as you have quite a few different types . As you will see from the video I tried to keep a single shot but with a laser sight on the team , as well as a high powered shotgun blast . I kept switching back and fourth on the other guy between a mini-gun or a bazooka. Again , just a preference for me.

There is one thing I couldn’t quite work out , hat collection . As you go through you actually pick up rare hats along the way wether you buy them or collect them . I just couldn’t see the point . I was an ocd collectors nightmare as I couldn’t find them all . Originally I thought they might give the team special ability but they were literally just hats . Sure , some of them were highly amusing like there is a cat in a box hat but that’s it . I think if you get all the team in matching hats and stand them near each other you might get some extra power but am not sure on that .
Anyway , this is a great , highly addictive game to play and one you will find yourself playing time and time again . Got to be a 9.5 / 10 purely for the concept , graphics and actual game play . Well done image & form ( game developers ) , well done.

Also, For all you trophy hunters out there …….good luck currently it has a 0.1% completion rate for the platinum . For those of you that go for it and get , well I tip my hat to you . I never say never so perhaps one day I shall gain it but for now am just enjoying just playing it through
