For the second entrant in our “Great Graphic Novel Guide” we are going with another new release, this time it’s DC Comics’ Flashpoint Beyond by Geoff Johns.

Flashpoint Beyond is a fantastic return to the world of Flashpoint and follows on from both the original Flashpoint event and the great Batman and Flash crossover, “The Button”. The story focuses on Thomas Wayne, who is this world’s version of Batman, who shouldn’t actually exist anymore thanks to the events of Flashpoint, The Button, Metal and more as he attempts to solve the mystery of the calendar killer while simultaneously trying to figure out why he’s there and trying to put the world back to how it should be but all is not quite what it seems.

Why Does This Make The List?

Following the initial Flashpoint event, fans wanted to see more of that world’s version of Batman aka Thomas Wayne. This book not only showcases him but offers a way for the DC writers to return to Flashpoint and Thomas Wayne in particular whenever they like.

There are several titles that tie-in with this nicely, mainly the original Flashpoint, Batman/The Flash “The Button” and “Dark Knights: Death Metal”
